Reunion

The homecoming is a powerful reminder of the enduring nature of love
despite the years and the distancem, my parents‘ spirits now rest together

Mum and Dad, after 16 years of being apart
you are finally together once more, side by side
reunited in the place you both loved so dearly
it was a reunion that had been long overdue
it is not an end but a continuation of your story
one that now spans beyond the earthly realm
this reunion was a celebration of your amazing life

When Dad sadly passed away all those years ago
Mum, you left everything behind in your hometown
moving to a new foreign country to be with us
it was a challenging transition, but you embraced it
with the same strength that defined your entire life
yet, there was always a part of you that yearned to
return to the land where your heart truly belonged

Bringing you back to your birthplace was not just
a journey across continents but a moving pilgrimage
filled with reverence, sorrow and enduring heartache
this homecoming, laden with profound emotions
marked a poignant chapter in our family’s history
the beginning of a lasting legacy of your love story
that had gifted me life and shaped my identity

In your final resting place, you are surrounded by
nature and imbued with tranquility you cherished
a serene spot is now the guardian of your love story
our ancestral land, with its familiar sights and sounds
the same soil that bore witness to the life you shared
it was not just a physical reunion but a fitting tribute
Mum and Dad, you are together, forever united in love
in the beautiful place you had always called home

I am a motherless daughter and an adult orphan, who loves passionately and grieves intensely, as I write and share about my personal grief journey with others, after I lost my darling Mum on 04 October 2022

to major stroke so suddely and so unexpectedly, with the hope that it might comfort, help and inspire people on their own journey.
